Voltage Converter & Transformer Buying Guide - Buy Voltage
Converter/TransformersCountries have different voltage systems, and
by supplying incorrect
amounts of power these can damage personal electronic devices. Travelers
can safely use personal electronics/appliances
devices abroad and use them on-site using our power
adapters or voltage converters/transformers that bridge the existing
power supply with the
device's electrical needs.
European
electricity voltage is 220 volts, rather
than the 110 volts used in the United States. This means that
your electronics or appliances will not work unless you convert the
voltage.
You will need power converters that we sell. The converters will provide
sufficient power for 110 volts
devices. Some of the modern mobile phones, laptops computers and cameras
might be equipped to
handle both US and European power. Check the label on your
adapter. If it says "110-240 V," then you only need a plug adapter
rather than a power converter.
Voltage in America
In the USA electricity is normally supplied at 110 or 120 volts at a
frequency of 60 Hz.
Voltage in Europe
The European electricity is generally at 220 volts and a
frequency of 50 Hz. This is standard voltage throughout France, Italy,
Germany, England, Spain, and the rest of
Europe.
To use electrical electronics or appliances in Europe, Voltage Converter
is needed
in order to plug in without electrocuting your machine, and maybe
yourself.
Low Wattage Devices
Small 110 volt electrical electronics or appliances like radios and
razors can
normally operate with a 50 watts step down 220 to 110 volt voltage
transformer.

220 volt to
110 volt transformer is a heavy thing because
it is made of solid steel plates and two coils of copper wire but
convertingbox is 50% lighter in weight.
Electricity is introduced into the primary coil and comes out at the
secondary coil. The change in voltage equals the ratio of the number of
turns
in each coil. Thus, a 220/110 volt transformer has half as many turns in
the
secondary coil as in the primary coil.
Transformer can be used to change European electricity so that it can be
used in American
specification devices. Transformers come in all sizes from 110 watts to
20,000 watts. The common travelers transformer is 500 watts
and can be used for small electrical devices. Larger transformers are
used for bigger
electronics or appliances devices. Its always a good idea to get a
transformer about twice the required capacity for the safe use.
If you load a transformer to the
max
it will get hot and maybe start to humm. Get a bigger transformer if it
is too hot to hold your hand on
it.

Identify the wattage of a
device by looking at the
label on it, which is usually on the back of the unit's. If the wattage
isn't specified, write down the voltage (V) and
number of amps (amperage or number followed by an "A") and multiply the
two numbers.
For example, if voltage = 110 V and amperage = 3 A,
then
110 x 3 = 330 watts. You will need to buy 500 watts voltage converter.
